The Napoléon dates back to a Paris of style and opulence. The hotel is immortalised in the 1930’s films of one of France’s greatest actors, Jean Gabin. Economic prosperity influenced the Parisian artistic milieux, and “Art Nouveau” was born. Examples of this style are to be found in the designs of Hector Guimard in some métros.

Built at the turn of the century the Hotel Napoleon was immortalised by one of France’s most famous actors Jean Gabin in a couple of his films made in the 1930’s.

During the boom of 1928, a wealthy and eccentric Russian merchant named Alexandre Pavlovitch Kliaguine fell in love with a young art student. It was love at first sight and they were married immediately. As a wedding gift, he offered his new wife the Hotel Napoléon, for her to complete her studies in the best conditions. They lived happily in the hotel for the rest of their lives.
To this day, the Hotel Napoléon remains the property of this very same family.
